SEAC

SEAC are in the process of webcasting the proceedings from a number of inquires to be held over a 12 month period starting April 2004.

The broadcast is both live and on-demand. The live broadcast allows the online audience active participation in the debate. This is achieved by the user submitting comments or questions through the website to a moderator in the inquiry room. The moderator then relays the questions to the panel and/or presenter. Post-event, the inquiry is made available on the internet for online audiences to access at leisure. The inquiries are held at a number of venues throughout the UK.

The webcasts are broadcast in Windows Media format. The on-demand files are made available as archives within 36 hours. For the live webcasts, 2 channels are broadcast. Channel 1 is for narrowband users and Channel 2 is for broadband users.

The presentations to the panel include PowerPoint slides, which are synchronised to the video stream. This is done for both live and on-demand broadcasts.
